Abraham David Christian Bronzeskulpturen

Today one of the most important representatives of contemporary sculpture, the German Abraham David Christian made an impressive career. In 1972, just about 19 years old, he was the youngest artist ever to exhibit at a documenta. He had his first solo exhibition at the Museum Haus Lange, Krefeld in 1978. From 1976 to 1978, he taught at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, the youngest ever to do so in the history of the school. His sculptures and drawings were subject of diverse international exhibitions. Maintaining residences in New York, Düsseldorf, and Hayama (Japan), he lives the life of a mobile artist, travelling to many cities and countries around the world. This book concentrates on his bronze sculptures. Corresponding to Christian's works in paper and plaster, they testify the artist's characteristic language, generating universal and timeless significance, not commited to Western culture alone, but valid all over the world.
