Gosbert Gottmann Warriors

In these photographs Gosbert Gottmann has isolated television images of various wars and alienated them by digital means. Resolved into shades of blue, they show war as an abstract phenomenon somewhere between the fascination with technology and the pose of the trained soldier. To bring the consequences of war that the photos omit back into the story, Gottmann has included in his book letters written by a soldier named Heinrich Matt to his family during the time he spent in sickbay.
