Mama, perhaps the Swiss photographer Hanspeter Schneider's most personal work, is a declaration of love of mothers, family, and life. At a family celebration in Sicily, where the matriarch is still the center of the universe, Schneider captures the myth of the mama in a moving series of pictures. The linen-bound book is a gift to all mothers who do the world's hardest job every day with grace, patience, ease, and kindness. Hanspeter Schneider has worked as a freelance photographer since 1983, for renowned magazines such as Vogue, Elle, GQ, and Stern. Among his customers are companies including Yves Saint Laurent, Boss, and L'Oreal. His works have been exhibited at events and loca- tions worldwide including the Festival de la Mode, Barcelona, the Art of Photography, London, and the Parco Gallery, Tokyo.
