Pino Bertelli's Mannheim street photography project forms a logical progression from his previous work. He is still interested here in observing and encountering people on the street within the context of a certain place, a certain city. For Bertelli, the street reflects the entire social fabric of a city. In trying to create a connection between the various social strata he wishes to represent, Bertelli describes the social atmosphere, the social memory of the city in question. Pino Bertelli (*1943) has become known not only for photography but also for his documentaries and short films. His photographs can be found in numerous collections all over the world. He counts among the central figures of Italian Neo-Situationism.
