Near Wandlitz in Brandenburg, in the middle of the forest, one comes upon the moribund shells of bygone time: amidst the trees lurks the country house of Joseph Goebbels and the former Wilhelm Pieck Academy on Bogensee lake. Photographer Jana Dimmey and author Katrin Matthes provide us with their own subjective impressions of this place, telling a photographic story of transience, but also of expectation. The book captures these mysterious lakeside grounds at this particular moment in time; guided by images and text, the reader "wanders" through the forest, sees Goebbels' country home from inside and discovers the academy building in all its cold, slumbering beauty.
