SexWork Kunst Mythos Realität

Prostitution, understood as "sexwork" here, is a highly charged theme that artists turn to again and again in their work. When its status as "violation of morality" was repealed in Germany, prostitution once again came to the fore as a topic of public debate. The social stigmatization of the customers and the huge amount of income the state earns through the sex industry are just two of the controversial issues being discussed on this front. The Neue Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst e.V. is now treating this sensitive topic, answering the general need for an artistic way to explore the issues involved. The catalogue documents exhibition as well as assisting the public in coming to terms with this issue.
